What is CRN

The Charis Response Network (CRN) seeks to facilitate those working directly with the refugees and migrants along the Balkan corridor with customized real-time information, identifying opportunities, coordinating efforts, and communicating needs on the ground.

The Charis Response Network (CRN) began as a critical and strategic response to the Syrian refugee crisis. The initial trigger for this crisis came as a result of Syria’s inner struggles that has culminated in millions of refugees fleeing the Middle East and Eurasia to safety. The refugee highway starts in Syria, goes into Turkey, into Greece, through Macedonia, Serbia, and Croatia, and, finally, into Western Europe. The volume of refugees flowing through the Balkan corridor in 2015 fluctuated from between 3000 to 10 000 every 24 hours.
